No subplots, no side characters, no strange twists, just one direct story.
The narrative is outwardly simple: a couple are bereaved of their son and the wife experiences some unusually deep and pervasive grief, they retreat to a quiet place so that he (Willem Defoe) might help her (Charlotte Gainsbourg) heal, but instead she has the control and the opposite of healing occurs, and dramatically so. In fact, in one respect, this picture is an abject failure. Having said that, there was definitely a lot in this film that, under different circumstances, I would have hurled popcorn at myself. Indeed, when I was still fresh out of the Antichrist wringer in the early hours of Saturday morning, I was immediately ready to get fed through again.

Watch it on its pre-screening until it gets released in September 2021 in the theaters.Had I been in the instantly infamous premiere of Antichrist at Cannes this year, I'd have picked the pro side and clapped as loud as I could, with all my might, done my best to drown out the boos and the derisive laughter. So, if you are bored of watching the same genre of movies or too bored of always striking yourself with the same content this movie is a go for you. So if you are reading this review keep in mind that this would be a film that you will never regret watching due to its interesting and curious story and the relation of being so unique in its own way. It is due to its genre being raw, rugged, often shocking because of the account of the rise of the Antichrist. Your imagination and curiosity will soar in this film. Relax and get your popcorns before starting to watch its prescreening in this month. So, there would be nothing that could get skipped or would not get answered in the movie. The best part of the movie is that all the curiosity and the questions would get answered in the last section of the movie. It will also arouse your prophetic curiosity, whetting your appetite for more information due to the more solid biblical subject. This movie is more than a suspenseful mystery. It also has a futuristic bias of some of the events. Also it is an amazing way to spend your valuable time without getting bored in this pandemic situation. Once you will watch it you can get to know it better. Also, the whole scale literal interpretation of the many prophesies of the Bible is also discussed in it. You can say that this movie promotes the small minority belief of the “rapture”. The film is directed by the award-winning filmmaker who did 'Gone' in 2002 and 'Final the Rapture' in 2013 and this is his opus. Love how the interview is in real-time and the questions are so profound and earth-shattering on the condition of man who rejects God above. The interviewer Aaron Groben also does a fantastic job as the news interviewer who interviews this Antichrist to 5 billion people. He deserves an Oscar for portraying the most evil man ever known to man. The actor, Ego Mikitas, who plays the Antichrist is incredible.
Basically, this movie is based on the Book of Revelation about the totally evil man (who is the opposite of Christ) who will take over the entire world. The main theme of the film is based on an interview which was live with the Antichrist broadcast. This would get started from December 21, 2020. Now it is confirmed that you can watch this full film on VOD (Video on Demand). It is expected to release in September 2021.
